Our Story

Hello! Kristian and Daniel here, the faces behind The Brothers Café. Cooking has been instilled in us from a very young age and has always been considered as a positive family activity. Baking became more important as we grew up and it allowed us to focus our creativity on to something productive.

We have found it difficult to find meaningful employment. After our attempts to find jobs had been unsuccessful, we started to plan our café, The Brothers Café.

So, why Nantymoel? We actually have strong family ties to the area and during the 1950’s, our grandparents courted here. Our grandfather also taught at Ogmore Grammar for years. After spending the first 13 years of life up in Manchester we quickly developed a love for this green valley, the mountains, springs and above all - the people who live here.

Our Ethos

Our vision is to become immersed in the community by helping local businesses and the area to thrive.

As far as possible, we are a zero-waste business. Therefore, you won’t find us selling cans, bottles, or paper cups.

Our philosophy in the kitchen is; sell only what you would normally make at home with love and passion.

We make everything from scratch, using only fresh, local products. We aim to keep food miles to a minimum.

Parts of our menu are seasonal. We make lemon curd, marmalade, and jam as soon as the fruit becomes available. If you become a fan, we advise you to stock up ready for the winter months.

Every day there will be two main lunch options. The first one will contain meat, the other will be suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet. In addition, there will be a wide selection of sweet and savoury products.

For example, in the winter we will be selling a delicious soup, accompanied by organic homemade bread.

We offer plant based milk to go in vegan coffee or tea as well as a wide range of herbal teas.
